The Home features original wide plank pumpkin pine floors 1st floor 12 foot ceilings with original crown molding and pearl & crystal chandeliers. The walls are painted in cool calming tones (soft chamois and pale oak) and adorned with antique mirrors and original art works. Entering through the elegant front door foyer you will pass an antique early American cabinet that contains up to date Nantucket maps, brochures, menus, gift certificates, etc. to help you get the most from your stay. From the foyer you enter the formal sitting room and then dinning room which hold working gas fireplaces. The living room has original antiques and nautical artwork along with crisp white camel back couches and wing back chairs for lounging. There is also a retractable flat screen plasma TV with full expanded channel cable, VCR/DVD. The large dinning room has a 12 person table for long lingering dinners and massive marble topped English serving board. In the corner there is also a small sitting area perfect for a card game, quiet book or cocktails. There is also an "ice closet" which contains a commercial ice machine a large video library and various beach chairs, towels, umbrellas, toys etc. The second floor is also accessed from the front foyer up natural sisal carpeted stairs and hallway to the upstairs 4 bedrooms and access to the rear deck and stairs to the garden. The kitchen is a true Nantucket "country" kitchen with a vaulted beam ceiling and wood floors. There are brand new S.S. professional grade appliances and a six person table made from the salvaged floor boards of an old Nantucket home. There is also a flat screen TV and a large vintage two head Dual Diva French espresso machine (espresso provided by Nantucket Coffee Roasters.) From the kitchen there is a DSL internet hookup, fax/scanner/copier and a stereo system with CD, I-Pod connection and XM Satellite radio which can be played in the kitchen, dinning room outdoor patio and side yard. The home is equipped with large a fully stocked laundry/linens room to accommodate the largest or multiple families. There are two industrial grade washing machines and driers with irons, ironing boards etc. Daily |
